The Kuban Governor Suggested Opening a Finnish Trading House in Krasnodar

Following a meeting with the Finnish Ambassador to Russia, Mikko Hautala, the Kuban Governor, Veniamin Kondratyev, proposed to open a Finnish Trading House in Krasnodar for the cooperation development. This was reported by the press service of the Administration of the Krasnodar Region.

According to the authorities of the region, the experience of Finland in terms of developing a quality roadside service with uniform standards and prices may be of interest to the Kuban region.

In addition, the region is interested in Finnish technologies in handling solid domestic waste. While 100% of waste is sent to landfill sites in the Kuban region, this figure is only 3% in Finland. The country has widely developed secondary processing, and waste disposal plants efficiently operate. Also, foreign and regional enterprises can establish cooperation in the construction industry, tourism and the production of environmentally friendly products.

Representatives of Finnish companies also expressed their proposals for the development of joint business. In particular, it was about using foreign technologies in the IT sector, food processing and infrastructure solutions in the region. The relevant agencies of the Kuban Administration will work through all the projects announced.

According to the Head of Krasnodar Yevgeniy Pervyshov, the experience of Finnish companies in the construction industry may be of interest to the Kuban capital. The Head of the city emphasized that it could be, for example, a sphere of production of finishing materials, which are very in demand due to the high rates of social, commercial and housing construction.

The Finnish delegation included representatives of the largest Finnish companies operating in different sectors, the Finnish State Agency for Innovative Financing, Trade, Tourism and Investment Promotion (Business Finland) and the Finnish-Russian Chamber of Commerce.

Currently, three enterprises with foreign investments from Finland are registered in the Krasnodar Region. The turnover amounted to 104 million USD since the beginning of the year.
